“There Was No Water”: Crisis, Drought, and the Battle for the Water of Life

Adventist Angels Watchman Radio — Special Prophetic News Analysis

Ev.King Osiemo

The recent report involving Quality Technology Services and massive hidden water consumption in Fayetteville reflects more than a local infrastructure controversy. It reveals a deeper prophetic pattern unfolding in a world entering increasing crisis, scarcity, distrust, and centralized control. The article described nearly 30 million gallons of water drained unnoticed while citizens were told to conserve.

In Scripture, water is repeatedly connected with life, truth, the Holy Spirit, and Christ Himself. The phrase “there was no water” appears multiple times in the King James Version during moments of testing, rebellion, and dependence upon God. The outward drought often represented an inward spiritual famine.

The Wilderness Crisis — Trusting Human Systems Instead of Christ

When ancient Israel entered the wilderness of Sin, the people cried because “there was no water.” They gathered around Moses and Aaron as though men themselves were the source of supply.

“And the people thirsted there for water.” — Exodus 17:3

Yet the Rock that followed them was Christ.

“For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 10:4

Today, modern civilization increasingly places confidence in technological systems, centralized infrastructures, artificial intelligence, surveillance, data centers, economic powers, and political institutions while neglecting dependence upon the Creator.

The article’s emphasis on cloud systems, industrial expansion, and massive hidden consumption while ordinary citizens suffer lower water pressure mirrors prophetic warnings concerning unequal burdens during crises.

Joseph and Jeremiah — Cast Into Pits Without Water

Joseph, a symbol of the faithful remnant, was cast into a pit without water by jealous brethren:

“And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.” — Genesis 37:24

Jeremiah, persecuted for proclaiming unfolding prophecy, was lowered into a miry dungeon:

“And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire.” — Jeremiah 38:6

Both experiences foreshadow conditions in the closing scenes of earth’s history. Those warning the world are often treated as alarmists, extremists, or enemies of progress.

The Great Controversy declares:

“The people will accuse us of causing the judgments of God to come upon them.”

Another warning states:

“Those who honor the Bible Sabbath will be denounced as enemies of law and order.”

As droughts, cyberattacks, wars, shortages, and climate emergencies increase, public frustration may eventually be directed toward conscience-driven believers.

Drought, War, and Crisis — Satan Delights in Confusion

Scripture reveals that drought and war often walk together.

In the days of the three kings — Judah, Israel, and Edom — they journeyed seven days without water:

“There was no water for the host.” — 2 Kings 3:9

Human wisdom failed until the prophet pointed them to divine intervention.

Likewise today, nations prepare endlessly for war while neglecting spiritual preparation. Resources are poured into weapons, surveillance systems, and centralized infrastructures while communities face shortages, fear, and uncertainty.

Jesus warned:

“And there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” — Matthew 24:7

The enemy delights in multiplying crisis because fear makes populations easier to manipulate.

The Serpents in the Wilderness — Looking Away From Christ

Israel was bitten by fiery serpents because of unbelief and murmuring.

“And Moses made a serpent of brass… and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.” — Numbers 21:9

Today many are spiritually stung by confusion, propaganda, addictions, materialism, political idolatry, and dependence on earthly powers. Healing still comes by beholding Christ.

“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” — John 1:29

The crisis is ultimately a war against Christ’s authority and character.

A Famine of the Water of Life

The prophet Amos warned:

“I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread… but of hearing the words of the Lord.” — Amos 8:11

Modern society possesses immense technology yet increasing spiritual emptiness. Massive systems consume resources while truth, morality, liberty of conscience, and faith are drying up.

The discussion surrounding “15-minute cities,” digital governance, surveillance infrastructure, and restrictions during emergencies has caused concern among many citizens worldwide. While cities have benefits, Scripture repeatedly counsels preparation, simplicity, and spiritual independence.

Ellen G. White wrote:

“Get out of the large cities as fast as possible.”

And also:

“Out of the cities; out of the cities! — this is the message the Lord has been giving me.”

Country living in Adventist understanding is not fear-driven isolation, but wise preparation for simplicity, self-sufficiency, health, family worship, agriculture, missionary work, and freedom of conscience.

Saul’s Trumpet vs God’s Voice

In Saul’s day, fearful people hid in caves:

“When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait… then the people did hide themselves in caves.” — 1 Samuel 13:6

Saul cried:

“Let the Hebrews hear.” — 1 Samuel 13:3

The people depended on visible leadership instead of seeking God directly.

Similarly today, many look entirely to political leaders, institutions, pastors, corporations, or digital systems for salvation from crisis. But prophecy points humanity back to personal faith in Christ.

The Living Water

Jesus declared:

“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” — John 7:37

And to the Samaritan woman:

“Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.” — John 4:14

Believers are called not merely to receive but to become channels of life.

“Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” — John 7:38

The reference to “Christians berry” beautifully symbolizes fruit-bearing believers whose lives should provide refreshment, truth, compassion, and courage during coming troubles.

Counsel for God’s People

God has not given His people the spirit of fear.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Yet Christ also instructed:

“Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” — Matthew 10:16

Practical preparation includes:

  • Deep daily Bible study and prayer
  • Character development through Christ
  • Health reform and practical skills
  • Literature evangelism and missionary work
  • Reducing dependence upon fragile systems
  • Supporting liberty of conscience
  • Simpler living and, where possible, country preparation
  • Storing physical Bibles and spiritual materials
  • Strengthening family worship and community bonds

The final crisis will not merely concern economics, water, technology, or politics. It centers on worship, allegiance, and the character of God.

Final Watchman Appeal

The world’s systems promise security yet increasingly produce anxiety, shortages, confusion, and dependence. But Christ still invites humanity to drink freely of the Water of Life.

“And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” — Revelation 22:17

The faithful are called to stand calm amid crisis, pointing souls not to fear, conspiracy, or hatred — but to Jesus Christ, the Rock in the wilderness.
