Ida Odinga, the wife of ODM leader Raila Odinga, has challenged the National Council of Churches of Kenya to regulate the mushrooming of churches in the Country.
It’s challenging in our modern times that preachers have mingled in politics that now they can’t differentiate between will of God and will of man. The problem encountered today is that preachers have entered the field of politics and the politicians have joined the ranks to be preachers. It’s quite unfortunate not to paint Ida Odinga but wherever Ceasar enters the field of God just has they did control churches in the pandemic will soon bring more evil results.
When I read in the book of acts, it seemed that the churches together had given Ceasar the way forward to act on Religious Fundamentalism Sects as they termed the churches emerging by that time. It may seem genuine that some churches are unworthy to exist but who knows what God will do as he turned Saul a persecutor to a preacher to the Gentiles.
Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. The Spirit of intermingling with politics has a sad dark history not to be covered here today…
Speaking during the launch of a book by Archbishop Emeritus Habbakuk Onyango Abogno at at the Church of Christ in Kisumu County, Ida observed that some of the mushrooming churches had been founded on the wrong religious prism.
She argued that regulation would weed out religious sects that lacked a clear structure.
Additionally, the former prime minister’s wife called upon church leaders to pursue theology to pass meaningful teachings to their congregants.
The Church of God Needs Not Learning But Needs to be Taught of God like John The Baptist,Jesus, Elijah awakened to Eat Bread, Ezekiel told to Eat the scroll and speak… Jews were learned but when Jesus was born, they were ignorant even of his birthplace.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.Acts:4:13
“We want worshippers to get quality sermons, that can only be achieved if the priests, bishops are well trained,” she said.
To indulge in the affairs of churches seems troubling for when Saul saw Samuel had taken a long time to come and offer sacrifices, Saul took the chances and offered himself in priesthood to offer sacrifices. That led him separated from Israel. That was not Saul’s task. Did Jesus Baptize John the Baptist? The spirit of ecumenical movement of the papacy principles have made the world mad at the point of weeding those having different views and could not harmonize with the standard of the world. God’s in charge of His church.
We need to differentiate Crime and Sin, Ceasar and God:
The book is about religious beliefs and practices that uphold Christian values in society.
Ida said that some churches were being formed to mint money from congregants.
“We want Kenyans to subscribe to religions that are formally registered and not those whose belief systems are commodified,” she said.
It is not the first time that the matter of regulation of churches is being put under scrutiny.
In 2020, Kangema MP Muturi Kigano tabled a bill in parliament to regulate the formation and registration of churches and other religious institutions in the country.
The bill aimed at amending the Societies Act to empower the Registrar of Societies to bring sanity to the sector.
The Work of the Government is not to regulate registration and formation of churches but it’s primary goal is to regulate crime, treason to security and be a terror to evil-doers. The National Council of Churches are neither gods but to be restrained that God is in-charge of his church. I heard recently them advocating for issues if politics, and that one goes against the principles of scriptures.

Freedom of Worship is ever in attack in all generations, men have assumed the prerogatives of God Almighty in thoughts they are doing Him a service. Churches are not clubs nor cooperative societies, these are moral guides whose principle guide is the scriptures. The Word of God preached in truth will separate gold from dross and the children of God will day whose doctrine is these, we have never heard wonderful truths like these before.
The Ecumenical Tsunami Movement of Pope Francis since 2013 of bringing religions together is a wrong spirit which tends to marginalize and point others as the enemy of the people. Let love prevail and true love and spirit of God shall be manifested soon. God is raising mushroom churches to fill gaps made by those who have been seating in churches as masters like the Jews. A movement is coming which will be called a sect, cult Fundamentalist, extremist for they shall stand on a sure Word of God, it will be denounced by popular churches like the Jews denounced church of Christ growing. The work of God in the earth presents, from age to age, a striking similarity in every great reformation or religious movement. The principles of God’s dealing with men are ever the same. The important movements of the present have their parallel in those of the past, and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time.
No truth is more clearly taught in the Bible than that God by His Holy Spirit especially directs His servants on earth in the great movements for the carrying forward of the work of salvation. Men are instruments in the hand of God, employed by Him to accomplish His purposes of grace and mercy. Each has his part to act; to each is granted a measure of light, adapted to the necessities of his time, and sufficient to enable him to perform the work which God has given him to do. But no man, however honored of Heaven, has ever attained to a full understanding of the great plan of redemption, or even to a perfect appreciation of the divine purpose in the work for his own time. Men do not fully understand what God would accomplish by the work which He gives them to do; they do not comprehend, in all its bearings, the message which they utter in His name.
